We make substantial purchases in connection with the development and operation of our activities.  In 2008, the invoiced value of goods and services, excluding petroleum products, purchased by StatoilHydro was NOK 123.3 billion. Part of this cost is covered by our partners. Projects will often involve a combination of national and foreign suppliers.

In 2008, NOK 104.1 billion was paid to approximately 9000 companies located in Norway, while NOK 19.2 billion was paid to approximately 17,000 suppliers with registered addresses in approximately 76 different countries.

In 2007, the invoiced value of goods and services, excluding petroleum products, purchased by StatoilHydro was NOK 108.3 million. The difference between the 2007 and 2008 levels reflects a general increase in investment activity in most countries in which the company operates.

We endeavour to encourage local deliveries and to cooperate with local enterprises as contractors and suppliers where they exist. We also invest in the hope of developing sustainable and competitive local enterprises.
