In 2008 StatoilHydro renewed its global agreement with the International Federation of Chemical, Energy, Mine and General Workers' Unions (ICEM) as well as the Norwegian trade union IndustriEnergi.

The agreement supports the change of information and further development of good working practises within StatoilHydro's worldwide operations.
 
ICEM is a global federation of unions covering the oil/ energy and mining industries with approximately 20 million members.

The agreement is a continuation of the agreement originally entered into in 1998 between Statoil, NOPEF and ICEM.
