Statoil participates in land-based oil production and exploration activities in the Mabruk field  and in the Murzuk basin. We have been pursuing exploration opportunities in other parts of the country and are considering new business opportunities that may arise. Our office is located in the capitol Tripoli.

Libya is a major exporter of oil and gas and has many promising areas both onshore and offshore. The country has set high ambitions for production increase targeting 2.2 mbpd in 2012.
