The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ was organized for charitable, educational and scientific purposes to encourage and promote the breeding, raising and marketing of better livestock and farm products at public fairs and to promote and maintain research and educational functions within the livestock industry.
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo's educational program is a significant part of the Show's mission - benefiting youth, supporting education, and facilitating better agricultural practices through exhibitions and presentation.
Since its beginning in 1932, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has committed approximately $330 million to scholarships, research, endowments, calf scramble participants, junior show exhibitors, School Art participants, and other educational youth programs.
Of that amount, the Show has committed more than $152 million in direct educational program support.
Statoil is proud to continue our partnership with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo through our sponsorship of the Statoil "Stars over Texas Stage" and the Rodeo Rockstar
Talent Competition located in the Kids Country area. We’re pleased to give our support to talented young people in sport, culture and education, helping them to become the heroes of tomorrow
