Geophysical data and interpretations from the Gullfaks field are incorporated at relevant points in Utah’s terrain to compare the two areas and thereby improve the geological understanding of the Gullfaks field.

UtahSim is used actively in relation to field courses, both internally in Statoil and at the University of Bergen.

In the video, emphasis is placed on showing faulting to further knowledge of how such areas are formed.

A direct comparison between interpreted seismic data from Gullfaks and the contemporary landscape of Utah is also shown.

Seismic profiles can also be inserted in the terrain for comparison and learning.

Several images of rock faces (sections) are incorporated in the correct geographical location so that detail as well as an overview can be seen.

The video example focuses on the south eastern areas in Utah.
