The oil and gas field Skarv was discovered in 1998. The plan for development and operation was submitted to the Norwegian authorities in June 2007 and approved in December 2007 and the field started producing 31 December 2012.
Skarv is located in the Norwegian Sea, approximately 35 kilometers south-west of the Norne field. The field has been developed with a production and storage ship tied to subsea templates and will produce through in all 16 wells. Injection of water and, in the initial years, gas will maintain well pressure and secure efficient drainage of the reservoirs.
Produced oil is loaded on the field. An 80 kilometers long gas pipeline connects Skarv to Åsgard Transport and the gas is sent to processing at Kårstø in Rogaland, Norway.
