Most of the group’s naphtha gets traded to customers in Europe and the USA, but some also goes to Far Eastern markets.

Statoil is represented in all parts of the naphtha market, and sells to refiners,  the petrochemicals industry and gasoline (petrol) blenders.

As for LPG, Statoil’s main naphtha volumes are being supplied from its Kårstø and Mongstad plants in Norway. These have large storage facilities, such as fully-refrigerated rock cavern stores (two at Kårstø, for propane only, and one at Mongstad) and modern ports.

These facilities have established Statoil as a major player in the market, with opportunities to export naphtha to distant recipients
