Soccer Night Out with the Houston Dynamo

Statoil’s involvement with the Houston Dynamo centers around community outreach programs, with specific focus on the professional soccer team’s player and youth development.

Starting in 2008, the Houston Dynamo and Statoil teamed up to host Soccer Night Out, an outreach program designed to bring soccer-related games and activities everyone can enjoy to various communities.

The Soccer Night Out events occur three times each fall and spring and are hosted in three surrounding Houston areas, Sugar Land, Spring and Katy.  They are aimed for kids aged 7-15, however there is always something for the whole family to enjoy.  Activities include soccer tennis, pick-up soccer games, dribbling and juggling practice and other various drills. Moon walks are available for younger children, and music and free giveaways from the Dynamo and Statoil are given out throughout the evening.  These events are free to the public, with the main message to encourage families in the community to get out, meet the neighbors and have some fun. 

In the fall of 2008 Statoil hosted three successful Soccer Night Out events, with over 5,000 participants attending.
