Multiplying Energy to make a bigger difference
Our Multiplying Energy programme in Brazil enables employees to support a range of good causes, from environmental projects to social enterprises. In fact, everybody in Statoil can take one working hour a week to volunteer, or become “field volunteers” for three months. By sharing our skills and energy as individuals we can help make a real difference.
We aim to meet the world’s energy needs by creating long-term value both for our shareholders and the societies in which we operate. We see these two forms of value as deeply interlinked.
Our projects create local infrastructure, revenue and jobs. Through training and education initiatives, we are able to improve local people’s skills and long-term economic prospects while adding integral value for our business.
Transparency is important, too. Stakeholders around the world need to be able to see that wealth derived from the energy we produce is being put to effective and equitable use. Information on Statoil’s economic contributions to countries and our payments to governments can be found in our annual Sustainability Report and our Payments to Governments Report.
